Central Coast Taxpayers Association

President's Message

For far too long the Central Coast has not had an organization that represents the interests of the taxpayers. I am pleased to announce that together, with other fiscally sound citizens of the Central Coast, we have formed the Central Coast Taxpayers Association.

It is the goal of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association to provide the public, the press, and the opinion leaders with information on the benefits of cost-effective and efficient government. It is clear, with three cities on the Central Coast voting this November to decide if they wish to raise taxes or not, that fiscal responsibility is lacking on the Central Coast. Our area is expanding and local governments are not looking for the most effective means to mitigate the need for additional revenue. There are more productive ways to increase local revenue than by raising taxes and the citizens of Central Coast should be given those options.

A great opportunity is presented to the city of Atascadero. In Atascadero the city is at a crossroads between raising taxes and looking for alternative sources of revenue. If Atascadero were to reject Wal-Mart and the Annex, then the city would be saying no to an increased sources of revenue, jobs and other economic development.

The Central Coast Taxpayers Association will advocate for the city of Atascadero and throughout the Central Coast to decrease the taxes that hard working citizens must give to the government. We will fight for the taxpayers.

Sincerely,
Tom J. Bordonaro, Jr.
President
Central Coast Taxpayers Association
